WHAT IS MISS TEEN NEW YORK INTERNATIONAL?
The Miss Teen International system has been developed to promote today's young women, ages 13 - 18, and their accomplishments. Around the world women are finding this system to be the opportunity to work with others to become positive role models.
Being the premiere pageant for young women has given Miss Teen International a chance to open doors for all women around the world. The Miss Teen New York International competition will be held October 11, 2008 in the Greater Binghamton area.
The event will give each contestant the opportunity to share her platform and make plenty of new friends on Friday night and all day Saturday leading up to the competition on Saturday night. Prizes including crown and banner will be awarded to the winning contestant along with the opportunity to represent New York at the Miss Teen International Pageant in Chicago in July 2009.
Our Mission: "To Make a Difference" Beginning 21 years ago, the Mrs. International Pageant was developed to have higher standards than other pageant systems. The focus behind Miss Teen International is to showcase women who are 13 to 18 years old, by July 1st of the national competition year and are a resident of the state or a citizen of the country they represent.
Each contestant competes in:
Interview Competition: 40% (of overall score) SCORING (1-20 points) Interviews will be conducted between 5 judges and contestant. Each contestant will have 5 minutes with each judge. No political or religious questions allowed. Each contestant will need to have a platform for which she will speak on during her year, if selected Miss Teen New York International. Dress for interview is Business Attire.
Evening Gown: 20% (of overall score) SCORING (1-10 points) Each contestant will wear her own personal choice of evening gown. Each contestant will be judged on grace, poise and elegance in Evening Wear.
Fitness Wear: 20% (of overall score) SCORING (1-10 points) Your aerobic wear must be approved by the pageant office. You may show a bare midriff. Shoes must be a WHITE athletic shoe and be worn with no-show socks and NO PANTYHOSE. Each contestant will be judged on being physically fit, energetic, and healthy.
Fun Fashion Wear: 20% (of overall score) SCORING (1-10 points) The Fun Fashion Wear portion of the competition is designed to provide each Teen contestant an opportunity to express her own personal sense of style. Fun Fashion Wear attire should consist of something that you would wear on the red carpet or to a dressy celebration like a New Year's Eve party. Think of glitz, glam, and dressy; but not casual or sports wear. It's more fun and flirty than an evening gown and may be a dress or pants outfit. It should not be another evening gown. Each Contestant will wear her own personal choice of fashion wear, but, it must be approved by the pageant office, with a photo of the selection.
Miss Teen International Rules and Regulations
The following are the official rules and regulations of Miss Teen International. Contestants must read and adhere to the following rules and regulations in order to participate in the Miss Teen International program. To be eligible as a contestant: Contestant must be a minimum of 13 years of age and no older than 18 years of age by July, 1st of the national competition year. Contestant must be of good health & moral character. Contestant must be single, never have been married, nor given birth to a child. Contestant must never have been convicted of a felony crime. Contestant vying for a state title must be a U.S. citizen. Contestant will be subject to a registration or sponsor fee. Contestant must never have nor will she during her reign pose for any photography, video or film associated with nudity or pornography. Nor has she ever or is presently involved with any type of employment involving partial or full nudity. Any contestant and/or family member or guest showing less than sportsman like behavior will lead to the disqualification of the contestant. No refund will be given under these circumstances. All decisions of judges at the Local, State / lnternational and National level are final and irrevocable. Contestant agrees to abide by all rules and regulations of the Regional, State and International competitions. Contestant will permit Miss Teen International and their licensees the right to use contestant's photograph for publicity purposes in connection with all Miss Teen International competitions. Contestant will permit Miss Teen International and their licensees to televise live or by use of film or videotape any portion or all of the competition. Contestant understands that Miss Teen International reserves the right to change the dates & location of the Miss Teen International National pageant. Contestant understands that if selected a winner of her competition, that for one year her professional affairs, as said winner, will be under the sole management of Miss Teen International and /or their licensees and that she will not give any written or oral endorsements commercially, without the expressed permission of said same. Contestant further acknowledges that all rights for any appearances, endorsements, speaking engagements, acting roles, etc. resulting from winning or being a contestant in any regional, state or international competition affiliated with Miss Teen International shall belong exclusively to same. These rules and regulations are subject to modification, as needed, without prior notice. Pageant reserves the right to make said modifications at its sole discretion.
