WHAT IS MRS NEW YORK INTERNATIONAL?

A FAMILY AFFAIR... The International Pageant system has been developed to promote today's married women, their accomplishments, and commitment to family and marriage. Around the world women are finding this system to be the opportunity to work with their husband and family to become positive role models. Being the premiere pageant for married women has given Mrs. International® a chance to open doors for married women around the world. The Mrs. New York International competition will be held October 11, 2008 in the Greater Binghamton area.

The event will give each contestant the opportunity to share her platform and make plenty of new friends on Friday and all day Saturday leading up to the competition on Saturday night. Prizes including crown and banner will be awarded to the winning contestant along with the opportunity to represent New York at the Mrs International Pageant in Chicago in July 2009.

Our Mission: "To Make a Difference" Beginning 21 years ago, Mrs. International® was developed to have higher standards than other pageant systems. The focus behind Mrs. International® is to showcase women 21 to 56 years old, married at least six months and a resident of the state she represents.  Each contestant competes in Interview Competition, which is valued for 50% of her overall score, Evening Gown, valued for 25% and Fitness Wear for 25%. Each contestant has the opportunity to select a platform of her choice that she spends the year promoting. Husbands are a direct part of the show, escorting their wives in the Evening Gown competition, and the husband crowns his wife titleholder.

Each contestant competes in:

Interview Competition: 50% (of overall score) SCORING (1-20 points) Individual interviews are conducted between each judge and the contestants, there are a total of 5 judges. Each contestant will have 5 minutes with each judge. Each contestant is required to have a platform, (something that the contestant has a passion for). No political or religious questions allowed, unless it pertains to the platform. Judges will keep in mind, accomplishments, family commitment, communication skills, community involvement and overall appearance. There is no comparative judging in this system. Dress for interview segment is business suit.

Evening Gown: 25% (of overall score) SCORING (1-10 points) Contestants will select the evening gown of her choice. Husbands will escort their wife on stage during this segment of the competition. Evening gown will be scored on the self-confidence, poise, and grace the contestant shows in this phase of competition.

Fitness Wear: 25% (of overall score) SCORING (1-10 points) Each contestant will be judged on being physically fit, energic and healthy. Your aerobic wear must be approved by the pageant office. You may NOT show a bare midriff. Shoes must be a WHITE athletic shoe and be worn with no-show socks and NO PANTYHOSE.

Mrs. International Rules and Regulations

Contestant is eligible to compete in a state pageant in which she is either a resident, owns property, or is employed in said state. Contestant is eligible to compete in a state pageant if she works in said state. Entrant must be married a minimum of 6 months by July 1st of competition year, and she must be residing with spouse. Contestant must be a least 21 years of age by July 1st competition year, and no older than 56 years of age. Contestant must be a U.S. citizen and a six month minimum resident in the state of her entry, or attend college or own property in that state. International contestant must have proof of citizenship of country she represents. A Contestant could be selected to participate as a delegate "at-large" if there is no competition for her area, state, region or country. Contestant must be a born female, married to a born male. Contestant must never have, or will not during her reign, pose for any photography, video, or film associated with nudity or pornography. Nor has she ever, or is presently involved with prostitution or any form of employment which involves partial or complete nudity. Contestant must not have been convicted of a felony crime. Contestant will be subject to a registration fee and or a sponsor fee. Each state and country fee may vary. Contestant, if selected, must agree to attend the National or International Competition as the State or Country Representative and abide by all rules and regulations required by same or forfeit title. If Contestant relinquishes, for any reason, any title given her, all prizes must be returned in full, and in condition received. These rules and regulations are subject to modification, as needed, without prior notice. Pageant reserves the right to make said modifications at its sole discretion.
